Participants will understand the importance of creating schedules and routines that are predictable, in order to create a safe and secure environment for young children. Participants will learn how to plan a schedule, considering children's needs, attention span and levels of development. Participants will understand how to introduce routines to young children, and ways to use cues. Participants will discuss transitions, and anticipate what difficulties can occur during transitions in order to prevent difficulties from happening. Group activity and presentation is required.

This training will provide information to participants about how to help toddlers develop self care skills. We will review the reasons why we want to encourage self care skills, what are age appropriate self care skills, and the importance of providing guidance and encouragement to toddlers during this phase of development. This course will also include group discussion, activities, problem solving and presentation.
