What is a Feeling 2: Helping children Develop Emotional Intelligence

This training goes into detail about the development of emotions and feelings from infancy to school age. We will discuss the difference between emotions and feelings; and how to promote emotional intelligence in young children. There is group discussion, an activity and a presentation.

Objectives

Participants will review and discuss the many definitions of feeling and emotions and identify the difference between the two.

Participants will discuss and identify what is emotional intelligence (EI); what are characteristics of EI; and the the levels of EI

Participants will discuss and identify ways to help children develop EI.

Participants will receive case studies and discuss in small groups to present how they will deal with the situation presented
