Training for early childhood educators and others who work with children
Hanna Perkins Center is a leading provider of Ohio-approved social-emotional training for educators, child care workers and others who work with children on a day-to-day basis.
Our training courses are live and online, providing the benefit of a responsive instructor and realtime discovery with peers, without leaving your home or office. Except where noted, trainings last three hours and provide 3 Ohio Approved Hours for licensed educators in the state of Ohio, or 3 social work CEUs through the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board (CSWMFT).
Hanna Perkins training generally focuses on social-emotional development in young children, and is geared to the needs of early childhood educators and specialists. Our classes deal with such issues as self-management and self-care, empathy, aggression and behavior, growing independence, and development of the conscience and self. They’re designed to provide educators with new ways to understand young children – and empowerment to gain increasing command of the classroom while having a powerfully positive effect on children and their families.
We have timeless offerings such as “Building your Teaching Skills” and “Keeping Young Children’s Attention in Preschool” but also add new and timely offerings as they become relevant, including courses around race, gender development and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A list of upcoming offerings follows. You can access the schedule for these training sessions from the button on this page.
Hanna Perkins Center was founded in 1951, and grew out of an organization that has been training early childhood educators since the early 20th Century (they were called nursery school teachers at the time).
Cost for classes may vary, but is generally easily affordable and includes fees for Ohio Approved Hours or CEUs.
