Marge Zerba, Ph.D.

Margaret Zerba, Ph.D.; Individual & Family Psychotherapist; and Child & Adolescent Psychoanalyst received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Pennsylvania State University, and earned her master’s and Ph.D. in counseling from Michigan State University.

During her time in graduate school she worked in residence halls as a graduate advisor. She subsequently practiced as a licensed psychologist in community mental health in Lansing, Monroe, and Detroit, MI; and as a program director at in-patient psychiatric facilities, where she provided direct patient services, clinical supervision and development of new programs.

While continuing to work mainly with adults, she accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Children’s Psychiatric Hospital, where she was supervised by well-known child psychoanalysts who had trained under Anna Freud. She continued her psychoanalytic work with children and families while at Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development. She was qualified as a child psychoanalyst in 2008, and works with children, adolescents, adults and families.
