Hanna Perkins’ Parent/Toddler Group is more than a simple play group.
Toddlers don’t have much experience with the complex world around them, and their ability to ask about it is limited. You want to help.
But many parents acknowledge that they don’t understand what’s going on inside their child’s fast-developing mind, or how to provide the right kind of guidance.
Our Parent/Toddler Group will help
Led by trained child development specialists, it provides structured activities to help you and your child work together for successful socialization.
For your child:
- Have fun
- Learn to navigate social play
- Gain manageable exposure to sharing, waiting, following instructions and group dynamics that are part of school life
- Have a good first experience with school, teachers and learning
For you:
- Learn about ages and stages of development
- Gain insight about what’s really going on in your child’s mind
- Develop tools to help your child navigate new situations and play well with others
- Discuss toilet mastery, sleep routines, self-care, regulation skills, emerging language and other topics

- 9:30-11 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday
- Sept. 3, 5; 10, 12; 17, 19; 24, 26
- Ages 15 months-3 years; parent/caregiver stays with child
- 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio / 1:1 student-to-parent ratio
- Child development specialist on hand for regular consultation
- Healthful snack served at each session
- Cost: $400 for 8 sessions (20% off regular price). Includes weekly meetings with a child development specialist.
A structured, predictable schedule helps toddlers with their rudimentary understanding of time, and frees them to enjoy activities without worrying about what might happen next. It also begins preparing them for the structured environment they’ll experience later at school.
