Kimberly Bell, Ph.D.

Kimberly Bell, Ph.D. joined The Hanna Perkins Center in November 2015 as Clinical Director of the Hadden Clinic for Children & Families. The position includes appointment to the John A. Hadden, Jr., M.D. Professorship in Psychoanalytic Child Development at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Bell is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience treating children, adolescents and families. She specializes in learning issues, parenting, separation anxiety and women’s issues.

In addition to maintaining a private practice, she has served as a management psychologist, providing such services as pre-employment assessments and leadership coaching.

From 2005 to 2010, Bell served in a variety of capacities at Hanna Perkins, including co-director of the Hadden Clinic and director of pre- and post-doctoral training programs.

Prior to moving to the Cleveland area, Bell worked in Michigan doing assessment, testing and individual psychotherapy in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and served as case manager for a community mental health center.

She has taught at Hawken School, John Carroll University and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and has presented on child and adolescent development throughout the Cleveland area.

She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and both her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Devra Adelstein, LISW-S, is a clinical social worker and child psychoanalyst who serves on the faculty of the Hanna Perkins Center and the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center. She consults with schools on issues of child and adolescent development and maintains a private practice in Cleveland Heights, working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She is a graduate of the New Directions Writing Program.

Anita M. Eddie, MA, ATR, MSSA, LISW-S, is a private-practice clinical social worker with more than  20 years of experience and a variety of professional affiliations.

Currently, she is providing behavioral health services through The Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development as a Clinic Associate; Lakeshore Educational & Counseling Services in private practice; and Mercy Regional Medical Center in adult psychiatry.

In addition, Ms. Eddie is a faculty member at the English Nanny and Governess School in Chagrin Falls. Her areas of specialization include psychodynamic psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults; family systems intervention; group work with conduct disordered adolescents; and young children with early and severe disturbances.

Ms. Eddie believes in strength-based approaches and assists her patients in realizing their greatest potential and beyond.

Courtney Goldstein, MAT, LPC

Courtney Goldstein, MAT, LPCC, is a therapist with eight years of experience, specializing in anxiety, depression and trauma work. A graduate of Indiana University, Goldstein earned a Masters of Counseling: Art Therapy from Adler School of Professional Psychology. She has participated in Hanna Perkins’ Closing the Gap pilot program, which provides early learning centers in high risk communities with support to elevate their Step Up To Quality certification; and has written an OCCRRA-approved professional development course that explores the role of play in the digital age.

Beatrice B. Griffin, L.I.S.W., MSSA, B.C.D.

Beatrice Griffin works with with children, adolescents, parents and adults in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

Soon after completing her masters degree in social work with a mental health specialty from Case Western Reserve University,  she began training as a child psychoanalyst at Hanna Perkins Center, graduating in 1982.  She has been affiliated with Hanna Perkins in various capacities since 1976 – also serving as a  therapist with children and parents, a faculty member and supervisor in the analytic training program. She completed training as an adult psychoanalyst through the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Institute, has a private practice, and has served as a consultant to community agencies.

Her memberships include The Association for Child Psycholanalysis, The American Psychoanalytic Association and the Cleveland Psycholanalytic Center. She is also a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.

Kenna Mycek, M.S.W., earned her master’s degree from Cleveland State University, where she was inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society in 2006 for her academic achievement.  She received the Social Worker Recognition Award from Cuyahoga County in 2000, based on her outstanding work on behalf of children and families.  She then completed her training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center and is currently a candidate in child analysis at the Hanna Perkins Center for Research in Child Development.

Judith L. Pitlick, MA, LPCC

Judith L.  Pitlick, MA, LPCC is a child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She works with individuals, couples, parents, and families.

Pitlick is on the Faculty of the Cleveland Psychoanalytical Center and the Hanna Perkins Center, where she teachers and supervises. As a licensed teacher in regular and special education, she previously taught at a therapeutic school as well as at area colleges and universities.

Stephen R. Silva, LISW-S, LICDC

Stephen R. Silva, LISW-S, LICDC, is independently licensed as a social worker and chemical dependency counselor. He has 45 years of experience in the areas of alcoholism-chemical dependency and mental health, including clinical and administrative positions. Steve works with children, adolescents and adults providing a range of services that include individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy.

He has had extensive and varied clinical experiences, and has worked at many of the regional treatment centers including the Lakeland Institute, Serenity Hall St. John West Shore Hospital, Glenbeigh, The LCADA Way, and Y-Haven. He also established his own state-certified Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP) for chemical dependency, and has provided services through employee assistance programs.

Silva obtained his BA degree from the University of Notre Dame 1974. He received his MSSA graduate degree in 1989 from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences (MSASS) at Case Western Reserve University. He completed a two-year postgraduate training at the Ohio Institute for Addiction Studies and subsequently served as an instructor there. Silva also received postgraduate training at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, where he completed psychoanalytic psychotherapy programs for adults and for children/adolescents. Currently, he is an advanced candidate in training as a Child Psychoanalyst at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center and Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development.
