2008 Summer Camps for Creative Thinkers!
Our Mission The essence of the Hanna Perkins camp experience is to help children achieve a sense of mastery in the given tasks. This is accomplished by planning hands-on activities that promote independent thinking & problem solving skills. There are opportunities for children to work independently as well as with peers. Early Childhood Educators plan fun, structured experiences that help children develop life long curiosity, pleasure in learning and an inner sense of accomplishment. All of our camps include photo-journaling to help the children document their experience. Mini Camp Themes June 23-26 ROLLER SKATING CAMP* AGES 5-8 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a. m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $125.00 per child Children will participate in a sequence of skill-building activities earning a badge and certificate for their efforts. Camp Leaders: Mrs. Karen Goulandris Ms. Laura Deetz June 30-July 3 WOOD WORKING* FOR BOYS & GIRLS AGES 7-9 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $150.00 per child Children will learn how to safely use real tools to make mini projects and one larger project to take home. Camp Leaders: Mrs. Karen Goulandris Ms. Laura Deetz July 7-10 GARDENING* AGES 6-8 Monday through Thursday 9:30a. m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $125.00 per child Children will learn how to plant, harvest and cook produce from the garden. Several garden craft projects included. Camp Leader: Mrs. Karen Goulandris July 7-10 CREATIVE CAMP* AGES 4-5 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a. m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $125.00 per child Children will utilize their senses in a day full of crafts and fun. Camp Leader: Ms. Laura Deetz July 14-17 GARDENING* AGES 4-5 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $125.00 per child For description see July 7-10. Camp Leader: Mrs. Karen Goulandris July 14-17 CREATIVE CAMP* AGES 6-8 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a. m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $125.00 per child For description see July 7-10. Camp Leader: Ms. Laura Deetz July 21-24 COOKING CAMP* FOR BOYS & GIRLS AGES 6-8 Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon Fee: $175.00 per child Children will cook up a light meal, dessert and beverage all to enjoy at camp or for taking home. *Preparation is an important part of our philosophy in working with young children. Considering this, we ask that one parent attend a mandatory ½ hour orientation with their child. During this visit, the parent and child will view the facility and receive information abut the camp program. At this time we will also ask parents to complete all necessary paper work required for entrance into the camp program. Time and date to be determined. You will be notified. Thank You.
