School Inquiries

Parents interested in our mother-toddler program, or our preschool, or kindergarten are invited to contact Mrs. Joan Horwitz, our Education Director to make an appointment to visit  the school to learn about Hanna Perkins before making decisions about applying.  One of the first considerations for parents wishing to place their child in the school is whether they are able to support their child’s participation in the school through weekly consultations with one of our child development specialist therapists and the teachers.  This includes the parent’s need to be available for the four to six week separation/orientation process, for ongoing transport of their child to school and from school which ends at 1:00 or 1:30 pm. (Preschool and Kindergarten, respectively).  When parents are clear in their wish to apply to the school, Ms. Barbara Streeter, the school admissions director, works with them to complete an evaluation.  A therapist is assigned once the evaluation has been completed, reviewed, and accepted by the school’s Admissions Committee.

Please note that we are unable to recommend schools for children who are beyond kindergarten age.
