HPC COURSES FALL 2006 The Hanna Perkins Center will be offering a series of courses during the fall of 2006. The courses are designed for educators working with preschool aged children as well as CDA candidates and those seeking CDA renewal. Participants may earn day care in-service credit, CDA credit, or CEUs in early childhood education offered through Starting Point. The courses are coordinated by Barbara Streeter, M.S. Sp.Ed, L.P.C.C., Associate Director of Hanna Perkins Center. The instructors of the courses are Hanna Perkins teachers who each bring their own educational background and interests to the courses alongside of the “Hanna Perkins approach to teaching.” The “Hanna Perkins approach to teaching” incorporates an understanding of children’s emotional development, the inner lives of children, and the importance of relationships in the development of curriculum and teaching “the whole child.” Course participants will be provided opportunity for active participation and discussion of the concepts presented. Fees: It is anticipated that scholarship funds provided through Starting Point will make it possible for Hanna Perkins to offer the courses free of charge to all participants.
